An Introduction
I believe it’s a good idea to introduce myself, and I figure the best way to go about doing that is to explain a bit about what I think regarding certain things. Consider this a declaration, if you will; a declaration of who I am; a bit of insight into what makes me tick; a sort of general overview of everything that goes on inside my head.
I believe in love. When I say that, it’s not so much me saying that I believe it exists. That’s sort of a given. It’s more like me regarding the concept of love like I would regard an actual person. I believe in Love like I believe in the ability of another human being to do the right thing. I believe in Love, and its capacity to overcome. I believe in Love, and the silly notion that it is powerful, and meaningful, and that it can serve as a catalyst to bring about great things.
I believe in telling people that you love them.
I believe in showing people that you love them.
I believe rain is sort of the greatest thing God ever gave to us. I believe rain is peaceful, and powerful. I believe rain breathes life. It regenerates and renews, and it smells really nice. I enjoy standing in the rain. I enjoy standing in the rain alone, but that’s probably because I’ve never stood in the rain with someone who enjoyed it as much as I did. I think once that happens, I’d prefer that to standing alone.
I believe that asking myself what I can do to make another person smile is better than getting upset over the fact that someone failed to make me smile. It’s true – I don’t do that enough. I wish I wasn’t so selfish. I wish that wasn’t the case.
I believe there’s power in touch, and that power is too often degraded and mistreated. I believe the world would be a better place if everyone could put their arm around everyone without ever feeling weird. I’m in it for the snuggles. Don’t you dare judge me.
I believe in pain, and the notion that I have the ability to do something about it.
I believe in you. Whoever you are.
I believe in tea. I love love love tea. Not the silly stuff you get at the grocery store. Maybe look into getting a gaiwan and some pu-erh. This is my favorite place to get tea stuff. I believe that would be a worthwhile investment.
I believe in drinking with and serving tea to others. I’ve been doing that a lot lately. I found a friend recently who I was able to serve tea to, and that person liked it a lot. He also likes the rain, so we’re planning on drinking tea and standing in the rain together at some point. We’ll probably talk about girls and our plans for the future, but I don’t really care what we talk about, so long as we can enjoy a good cup of tea in the rain together.
I believe in storytelling, and that’s probably going to be what this blog is dedicated to. Those efforts materialize primarily in film, but I also try to tell stories through music and writing, too. I believe storytelling is what drives me, so I’m going to be doing a lot of that in the future.
I believe in simplicity.
